Peter Schneider, Founder & Principal
Leadership
Over the course of 20 years Peter Schneider served as the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Director at three major universities- Boston University, University of Texas-Austin and University of Massachusetts-Boston. He has also served as the Interim EHS Director at Dartmouth College, Northeastern University and Wellesley College.
As an EHS Director and as an environmental consultant, Peter has conducted numerous compliance audits, peer reviews, gap analysis and program assessments at colleges and universities in both the US and abroad. He taught environmental management and hazardous material policy at Tufts University and Boston University. Peter has also conducted a wide range of EHS courses from hazard communications for facility personnel to negotiations skills for senior managers. Peter taught Environmental Management and Sustainability at the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB) in the School for the Environment. In 2018 he was appointed a Professor of Practice.
He is an experienced mediator and facilitator. In 2019 he was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Conflict Management from the UMB Graduate School of Public Policy and Global Studies. He is also the past president of the Campus Consortium for Environmental Excellence (C2E2) and a former member of the Board of Directors of the Campus Safety Health and Environmental Management Association (CSHEMA).

We are pleased to announce that Suzanne Howard has joined Schneider Consulting effective June 15th. This addition will expand and strengthen the environmental health and safety services we provide to colleges and universities. Suzanne is the former Director of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) at Wellesley College and Boston College. She also has over a decade of experience as a consultant providing a wide range of EHS services in support of regulatory requirements and best practices. Suzanne holds a Masters in Public Health and a BS in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.
